The Dries lab at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and the Boston University (BU) Medical Campus is seeking a self-motivated computational postdoc to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge research projects in the field of computational biology and spatial genomics analysis. Our lab has generated several large spatial multi-modal datasets that provide unique opportunities to work at the forefront of spatial data analysis and method/software development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computational methods, proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, and
experience with object-oriented programming. They should be capable of building pipelines for data analysis and have a keen interest in spatial biology, particularly for super-resolution technologies.

Key
Responsibilities:- Utilize R and Python programming
skills to develop and optimize computational algorithms for data analysis. - Collaborate with team members to build robust pipelines for processing and analyzing biological data.- Implement object-oriented programming principles to improve codebase readability and maintainability. - Conduct spatial analysis, with a focus on single-cell analysis techniques, to extract meaningful insights from biological data, see www.giottosuite.com . - Stay updated with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and computational biology to contribute innovative ideas to the team. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team comprised of physicians, researchers, biostatisticians, and computer scientists (www.drieslab.com). There is ample opportunity for development within this role, which is well-supported by senior research faculty. This position is ideal for postdoc candidates with a quantitative background and an strong interest in cancer biology and genomics, looking to make a substantial contribution to public research and health within a diverse and enthusiastic research team.
Qualifications:- PhD. with relevant
experience in a quantitative field- Proficiency in R and Python for computational analysis and data visualization. - Effective communication and interpersonal
skills, with the ability to collaborate with other team members.-
Experience with GitHub and package development to contribute to existing tools and libraries. - Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles for efficient code development. - Ability to build and optimize pipelines for processing biological data efficiently. - Strong interest in spatial biology concepts, particularly in the context of single-cell analysis.- Additional demonstrated expertise in SQL/databases, Rust, ATAC-seq, image processing or ML/DL is a plus
