Backend Platform Engineer

Salary: 130-180K plus Equity

For this Cloud Engineer role, you will:Engineer a data platform and work on cutting-edge MLOps with guidance from MIT PhDs who are prominent in systems and ML research.Pioneer novel software systems for the rapidly growing field of data-centric AI. Our tools enable data scientists and engineers across all industries to effectively diagnose and fix issues in their datasets, thus improving the quality of their business’s core asset.Work with the latest tooling and ML models at a dynamic startup.

Role

responsibilities:Keep up to date with the latest cloud technologies and offerings and how they relate to open-source alternatives to continuously improve our infrastructure. You will guide us on when to buy cloud services vs roll our own.Design and implement security best practices and data protection and compliance processes. You’ll help identify potential risks and propose solutions to mitigate them & devise ways to monitor and alert on these risks.Collaborate with our product, sales, external vendors and marketing teams to create the best cloud-based solutions for our current and future customers.Develop the platform APIs our company depends on.Design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure relating to data access, security and privacy, data processing, storage, and serving to build the platform that provides these APIs.

Candidate

Qualifications:Deep understanding of both open-source libraries, frameworks, and systems, and

experience deciding when to build from scratch vs use existing solutionsSolid understanding of current and future cloud offerings and risks related to security, privacy, data ingestion, processing, and storage

Experience Building Significant Backend Distributed Systemsprevious

experience at a top-tier tech company or startup

Experience running production code in cloud environments, solving problems at scaleStrong AWS development

experience. Not "just" setting up infra, but also writing apps/services using the infraStrong Python
