The Instructional Support Technician will be responsible for providing all aspects of computer Helpdesk support along with maintaining and supporting the resources in the Instructional Computing labs. This position will be responsible for the daily management, scheduling and overseeing of Helpdesk requests as well as providing high level technical support. This includes identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues along with the installation and configuration of PCs, laptops and network printers in both an office and lab environment. Maintain the operational status of these resources and apply the appropriate Windows and security updates as required. The individual must be highly motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment and manage multiple tasks while meeting commitments in a timely fashion. Engage in project-based tasks on an as needed basis and additional

duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly and maintain an active connection with the campus Helpdesk system. Aid in desktop imaging and configuration procedures. Provide support for office re

locations concerning computer and networking arrangements. Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment in classroom settings. Set up and configure PCs and printers for both labs and offices. Participate in asset management using Sassafras and Team Dynamix as central inventory control systems. Ensure the operational status of resources and apply necessary Windows and security updates. Collaborate with a team to establish and maintain a centralized print environment. Perform any other technology support related

duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or Associate's degree with 4 years of

experience in a support technician role. At least 2 years of

experience in a technical support position. Familiarity with Team Dynamix support ticketing system. Previous involvement in software and hardware support. Strong problem-solving abilities and effective time management

skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication

skills. High level of attention to detail. Demonstrated organizational

skills and self-motivation, capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Proficiency in using the Sassafras interface for technology inventory logging and tracking.

Experience with the Altiris imaging system. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite. Mac OS

experience.

Additional Information

This is a full-time UUP position.

For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, April 18, 2024, and ending Wednesday, May 10, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale. CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Friday, May 17, 2024

SALARY: $55,000 + $3,087 in downstate

location pay = $58,087 Total
