About The Role

As an integral member of the Materials Engineering team at Honeywell Aerospace, the Machining Sr Materials Engineer - Surface Enhancement will lead aerospace level functional groups in surface enhancement, conventional and nonconventional machining, and engineering substantiation/source approval. You will apply deep

experience leading teams through complex solutions in creation of new and innovative products. You use refined project leadership

skills to influence teams that solve various materials challenges.

Located at the Honeywell Aerospace engines campus in Phoenix, Arizona, this Aerospace Materials Engineering position.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate strong impactful leadership of shot peen, conventional and nonconventional machining Special ProcessesUse deep hands-on

experience with aerospace processes leading engineers to solve all types of process challenges with strong team and project leadership

skillsRecognize processing history in the substantiation results and explain meaning of the results to upper leadership, peers, and to early career engineersLead development of engineers to understand process solutions to progress process developmentUse a data science approach with materials science principles to develop and execute design of experiments using computational materials software (ICME)Use deep practical

experience with suppliers to readily understand their challenges, articulate robust guidance for solutions, and effectively relay supplier

experienceHoneywell designers for improved manufacturabilityDevelop strategic relationships with adjacent engineering and business organizations leading achievement of Honeywell objectivesHybrid

Requirements

Must Have

10+ years'

experience demonstrating both hands-on process and technical expertise mixed with process development, problem resolution and design requirement definitionBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
