Summary
The Network Engineer generally installs and configures network infrastructure and software required for operation and security of the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
The incumbent may also: Provide expert internal analysis of, and support for, all LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.Manage performance of multiple hardware and software platform interfaces at highly complex levels Serve as an organizational interface to vendors.Assist with connectivity, security, and administration of the operational technology (OT) network as needed.
On a daily basis, the Network Engineer performs a wide range of
duties, including:
Overseeing maintenance, security and administration of diverse LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and privatized LTE environmentsResearching, proposing, acquiring, and installing hardware and software in support of Network Operations and SecurityMonitor network performance and respond accordingly to maximize reliability, resilience, and security.

Responsibilities:Network Infrastructure Management:configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and Palo Alto firewalls, along with HP/Aruba switches, Wi-Fi access points, and SilverPeak SD-WAN infrastructure, ensuring seamless network operations.and support all data and telecommunications circuits to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.and recommend adopting new network products and technologies, such as SilverPeak SD-WAN, to enhance network efficiency and security.with vendors and contractors for daily operations and network-related projects, ensuring smooth implementation and issue resolution.and update comprehensive network diagrams to reflect evolving network architecture across all company
locations.
Security and Compliance:and maintain robust security measures based on zero-trust frameworks, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of network data.system security at file, user, group, and server levels, adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards.compliance with licensing, support, and contractual
requirements for all network-related hardware, software, and data circuits.Monitoring and Optimization:network performance closely, proactively responding to issues to maximize reliability, resilience, and security.Orion network monitoring and SolarWinds toolsets to promptly identify and address network anomalies.
User Support and Collaboration:responsive help desk support to all employees, efficiently troubleshooting and resolving network-related problems.with other departments and vendors to facilitate timely resolution of network issues, minimizing disruption to business operations.a culture of effective communication and collaboration, promoting courteous and user-centric support services.
Additional
Responsibilities:in after-hours on-call rotation to promptly address network emergencies.license compliance for all company network-related hardware and software.other

Education And/or
EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant
experience; or equivalent combination of
education and
experience. Familiarity with technologies such as Microsoft Entra, Intune, Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Citrix, VMWare, Avaya IP Office, Rapid 7, and DUO is a plus. Highly skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting problems to identify solutions in a timely manner.
In the capacity of Network Administrator, the incumbent must apply proven and specialized
experience with:
IOS (routers and switches).switches and Wi-Fi access points.SD-WAN.Alto firewalls.ClearPass.IP Routing principles, and practices.security concepts, including knowledge of NIST and zero-trust security frameworks.network monitoring and SolarWinds toolsets.administration.cabling.DHCP, and/or WINS.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS While not required, the following certifications are encouraged and advantageous: (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).(Cisco Certified Network Associate).ACX, ACA, ACEP.Alto PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer).
