Overview
The Senior Manager, Merchandise Movement, reports to the Director of Fulfillment Logic and Merchandise Movement within the Supply Chain pyramid. This team supports the merchants at Macy’s, as well as other cross-functional partners, including Store Operations, Finance, and Inventory Control teams. Additionally, the Senior Manager serves as the primary support contact for RTVs, transfers, receiving, congruency management logic, and vendor allowances. They also serve as the primary business stakeholder for Macy’s merchandise movement systems, vendor allowance application, and congruency logic management system. This role plays an integral part in strategic problem-solving and the development of creative methods to support merchants and facilities in inventory movement.
What You Will Do
Serve as the System Owner, knowledgeable about RTV and Transfer Systems processes.Act as a liaison between Merchants, Central Store Operations, and Macy’s Supply Chain to coordinate monthly RTVs and transfer activities.Provide backup and support to analysts for monthly RTV projection reporting and weekly RTV progress reporting as required.Troubleshoot and assist merchants with the monthly RTV entry process or any transfer system issues as needed.Monitor transfer processes through compliance reporting when necessary.Oversee the resolution of receiving trouble shipments for Stores, CFCs, and Backstage.Collaborate with Merchants, Merchant Operations, and EC Technology teams to reduce trouble rates.Generate ad hoc reports related to company strategic initiatives as needed.
Operational
Responsibilities
Review Vendor Allowance exception reviews from Corporate Accounting and collaborate with merchants on potential adjustments.Possess a working knowledge of Vendor Returns and various "Damage Profiles," understanding how each is processed and their business impacts.Manage congruency logic and DRE tool configurations, including troubleshooting and driving necessary enhancements.Coordinate Cross-Divisional Purchases between Macy’s and Macy’s Backstage.React to and monitor Legal Recalls, ensuring proper processing.Participate in Omni-channel discussions regarding Merchandise Movement (Transfers and RTVs) and collaborate with Macy’s Technology to assist with the design and enhancement of new systems, processes, and strategies.Review and audit RTV, VA, and Transfer system access levels throughout the organization.Conduct routine meetings with team colleagues to manage projects and ensure adequate training and development.Provide training on Merchandise Movement systems and procedures to cross-functional teams as necessary.Maintain regular, dependable attendance, and punctuality.
Skills You Will Need
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication
skills to effectively liaise between Merchants, Central Store Operations, Macy’s Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
Strategic Thinking: Integral involvement in strategic problem-solving and creative method development to support merchants and facilities in inventory movement.
Analytical
Skills: Strong analytical
skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and mathematical abilities, to review reports, conduct ad hoc analyses, and manage operational data.
Business Acumen: Understanding of Vendor Returns, Damage Profiles, and their business impacts, as well as
experience in managing congruency logic and tool configurations.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of SQL queries is preferred for data analysis and system management tasks.
Multi-tasking and Project Management: Capability to multitask and manage multiple projects, including coordinating Cross-Divisional Purchases and reacting to Legal Recalls.
