Organization DescriptionPrideArts is a not-for-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to showcasing, promoting, and championing LGBTQIA2S+ artists. We curate thought-provoking and boundary-pushing performances and exhibitions that celebrate the colorful intersectionality of queer lives and
experiences. Our mission is to use art as a tool for visibility, advocacy, inclusion, and representation. We create safe spaces where Gender and Sexual Minorities can thrive and share their art and stories.
Role DescriptionThis is a Board of Director role at PrideArts. As a board member, you will be responsible for providing governance, strategic direction, oversight, and counsel for the organization. This is a hybrid role, primarily located in our Chicago Theater at 4139 N Broadway St, but with flexibility for those located outside the area.
Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit board governance and strategic planningKnowledge and understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ issues and
experiencesStrong communication and interpersonal
skills
Experience In Fundraising And/or Grant Writingfinancial Literacy And
experience with budget oversightAbility to work collaboratively and make sound decisionsPassion for the arts and a commitment to
diversity and inclusion
Experience in arts administration or related fields is a plusResidence or travel in or near Chicago, Illinois is preferred
