Junior Analyst

Sagefield Capital is a natural resources, energy transition, industrials/materials and utilities long/short fund based in Dallas. We are seeking junior analyst candidates that can enhance the investment sourcing and diligence process with the role having a heavy emphasis on financial modeling. Please do not apply without an investment banking or equivalent corporate finance background. The role is based in Dallas.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare three statement financial models with ability to come to valuation conclusionsClosely monitor target sectors and absorb incremental news into financial models. Analyze public company filings and disclosuresPerform market research on macro energy and industrial trendsAttend meetings with management teams and sell-side analystsWork directly with the investment teamArrange calls with investor relations departments

QualificationsBusiness, engineering, or energy focused degree from a top-tier university2-5+ years of

experience in an energy or investment banking focused finance role1-2 years of buy-side investing

experience strongly preferredStrong financial modeling

experience with ability to comfortably navigate an Excel modeling test

Experience Engaging With Management Teamsstrong Powerpoint And Presentation

skillsFamiliarity with DrillingInfo and Bloomberg a plusTeam player with strong communication
