Senior Tax Accountant

Our client is looking for a LEAD TAX ACCOUNTANT located in Southfield, MI.

RESPONSIBILITIESPreparation of the quarterly and annual U.S. federal and state tax provisions and projections including rolling forward deferred tax accounts and income tax liabilities.Assisting with tax accounting consolidation including tax balance analysis as well as assisting with drafting the tax footnotes.Ensure and document that quarterly and annual tax accounting and tax compliance procedures comply with required SOX control objectives.Support the U.S. federal and state tax compliance processes including the return-to-provision analysis.Supervision of tax staff, including management of work streams, projects, and detail reviewProvide assistance with U.S. federal tax planning projects.Special projects, as assigned.

Education &

EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business AdministrationCPA+5+ years tax

experience within the tax function of a multinational publicly-traded corporation and/or public accounting firm, with US GAAP tax accounting exposureMaster’s degree in tax or other advanced degreeKnowledge of accounting and consolidations systems (SAP, HFM), tax reporting software (OneSource), and compliance software (OneSource).Background in U.S. federal and state tax lawsAdvanced

experience with Microsoft ExcelExcellent interpersonal and communication

skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels.Strong time management

skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines for tax compliance and US GAAP reporting needs.Strong organizational skill to ensure ability to prioritize workload and manage a number of projects at any one time.A positive, energetic and happy attitude.
