Overview:The project accountant is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected. This role will be to assist the Controller and Vice President of Construction with all functions related to supporting the accounting work flow of the projects. Job Functions:Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PMs) and Owners, regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billing.Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate records.Prepare monthly AIA billing for each project and ensure all applicable documentation including lien waivers are completed and sent to clients.Maintain accounts receivable reports including recording of cash receipts, collection calls and providing weekly cash receipt projections to Management.Assess and pursue opportunities for maximization of client billing; communicate with the Chief Operations Officer as to your observations and actions taken.Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period.Maintain the billing folders for all projects, with all the appropriate documents, including expenses, consultant invoices, and monthly invoices, in accordance with standard procedures.Recommend and implement agreed process improvements to the billing cycle.Provide year-end support of auditor
requirements, which may include research and reconcilement.Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Controller.
