Audi of America, Audi Automated Driving Development (A2D2) focuses on Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) development. ADAS are electronic systems that assist drivers in driving and parking functions. Through a safe human-machine interface (HMI), ADAS increase vehicle and road safety. ADAS systems use automated technology, such as sensors and cameras, to detect nearby obstacles or driver errors, and respond accordingly.
This position is located in San Jose, CA.

SummaryThis position will guide and lead ADAS/AD team members from technical standpointThe role is responsible for performing application, verification and validation of ADAS features which are Lateral/Longitudinal control function (Lane Centering, Lane Keeping, ACC, ISA etc.)This task will also include understanding of ADAS feature
requirements, defining application process and creating the verification and validation plan of these featuresThis role also requires to drive instrumented Audi vehicle on the public road, identify problematic scenarios and perform root cause analysis of all the corner cases where there are issues ADAS featuresThe role is to support the engineering development of ADAS/AD feature for series production. The focus is development US specific feature and validation of the same. The responsibility starts with creating scenarios for each feature and generating requirement specification for software developmentThis role will be working closely with Verification & Validation engineer to support deep dive analysis of measurement data to understand feature performance and root cause analysis. The position also will be responsible testing the ADAS feature in simulation environmentAs a part of job responsibility this position requires to coordinate with the function developers in US & Germany closely Role
Responsibilities Main responsibility Application, Verification and Validation – in vehicle testing (20%) Developing application process, test plan for verification and validation of ADAS featuresInstrumenting test vehicle with measurement devices to capture data specific to test cases and scenarios. These include additional sensors (like camera, Lidar etc.) for ground-truth data collection along with Audi-specific measurement devicesTesting with pre-defined test cases on road (real life scenarios) and also identify, test all possible corner case scenarios to makes sure that features are performing as intended Data analysis, finding root cause and potential solution – (30%) Collect measurement data while performing on-road testing and perform analysis all relevant signals (hardware and software) in ADTF / Matlab-Simulink to understand and verify behavior of signals as per test cases. Most important is to understand the root cause of the problematic scenarios where function fails.
