Role Overview & Specifications
The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of nearly 2 million volunteers dedicated to saving lives, celebrating lives, and leading the fight for a world without cancer. From breakthrough research, to free lodging near treatment, a 24/7/365 live helpline, free rides to treatment, and convening powerful activists to create awareness and impact, the Society is the only organization attacking cancer from every angle.
Help cancer patients in your community get to life-saving medical appointments.
Volunteers with the American Cancer Society's Road To Recovery use their personal vehicle to drive patients with limited or no transportation to cancer-related treatment appointments.
Rides are weekdays. You choose the rides that work with your schedule. Drivers are encouraged to provide a minimum of 2 rides per month.
Volunteer drivers are ages 18-84 with
a safe driving record,a current license,a reliable vehicle, and vehicle insurance.
Volunteers interested complete online training and a background check. Volunteers review available rides via an online scheduling tool.
