Job Description

You will have the opportunity to bring Vuori’s Outerwear designs to life. As the Sr Materials developer your raw materials background and knowledge to support the materials team with the pre-season and in-season development and creation of new technical fabric developments. You are the link between design, merchandising, product development, and the mills. It is essential that all communication is accurate, complete, timely and professional. Therefore, we entrust you to develop quality, on-time and cost-efficient materials that reflect Vuori’s aesthetic and ethos.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Lead and collaborate on projects with Design/Merchandising/Development to source/create appropriate seasonal materials that meet Vuori’s design aesthetic and corporate target margin goals. Assist with Innovation team for new buckets pertaining to Outerwear Receive and review all fabric testing data with intention and understanding on how to improve if failure arise Manage materials submits for physical and digital library– filing, organizing, and accessibility Responsible for the data integrity of Materials Library for Fabrics ongoing in development Works closely with Materials Manager, Production and Planning teams on any replenishment forecasts to factories/mills Assists with materials sustainability and tracking against sustainability metrics Establish and monitor time/action calendars to hit target calendar dates including proto, Photo Shoot, Sales Samples, Pre-production through Bulk. Partner with manager to communicate with suppliers and vendors; written and verbal, on pertinent development related issues Works with mills directly to negotiate costing with vendors/factories to achieve costs to meet target wholesale and gross margin targets. Suggest alternatives when relevant.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Merchandising, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent combination of

education and

experience. 6+ years of fabric development

experience is required and/or product management

experience with an understanding record of managing product from concept to completion. Sense of fashion and trend in relation to the market Extensive knowledge of materials used in the engineering and manufacturing processes used to build products Strong background in both knits and woven development with a focus on composites and outerwear Intermediate Computer Drawing

skills for technical and construction detail sketches & related art using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop a plus Intermediate to advanced computer

skills with emphasis on Microsoft suite and excel Aptitude for systems and systematic work Must possess strong knowledge of costing, garment construction, and all pre-production coordination.

Requirements

International Travel

experience is a plus; international travel required Willing and able to work additional hours when needed. Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000
